CURRICULUM

AISM is registered and accredited to deliver the Australian, New South Wales Board of Studies curriculum.

This places the school in a unique position in Malaysia as the only school delivering a fully Australian curriculum. This has a significant benefit for those students wishing to continue their studies in the Australian Tertiary sector. Furthermore, our graduating students use the Australian qualification to gain entry into universities all over the world. The credentials awarded by the Board of Studies are also recognised internationally and offer articulation into institutions in other countries.

Students start their formal education at the age of 5 and enter Kindergarten.  This represents the entry point for thirteen years of schooling culminating with award of the School Certificate in Year 10 and Higher School Certificate (HSC) at the end of Year 12 (age 18).

AISM reflects the Australian education philosophy of educating the whole child.  Whilst great emphasis is placed on the academic programme, the physical, emotional, spiritual and social dimensions of development are seen as crucial elements of our teaching. The curriculum is divided into Key Learning Areas (KLAs); 6 in Primary and 8 in Secondary. However, the most important difference between AISM and other schools is not in what is taught but rather how it is taught.

Our students are taught skills that will make them employable in the workforce. Communication, leadership, teamwork and problem solving are key skills imparted by the teaching staff through class and outdoor activities.
