CAMPS 2005

This year, camps for all students from Years 3 to 10 were held during August at a variety of venues. The themes are all activity based, with the activities varying depending on the age of the students.
The Primary students  returned from their camps in Week 3, and the Secondary students returned on Wednesday and Friday of Week 5.

Year 3 & 4 students

On Thursday 4th- Friday 5th August, 2005 Class 3B, 4C and 3/4P  traveled to Port Dickson to commence their camp experience. The teachers accompanying the students were Miss Pedder, Miss Cocks and Mr Baynes.  For many children it was their first school overnight ‘camping’ experience. The children enjoyed their time immensely and came away with new skills and friendships among all the class groups.

Enjoy reading the following short accounts of the Camp……..

The camp was fun because it had a lot of activities that I liked. I liked the go-karting the best because it was fast. My second favourite was kayaking because you got to get wet and to control your own kayak. My third favourite activity was horse riding because it was fun and we got to pat the horse. I think the jungle walk was also one of my favourite things because we saw fireflies.

Year 5 & 6 students

Last week the year 5 & 6 went on a school camp to Pangkor Island. We were all very excited. It took us 4 hours to get there. Some of the activities we did on camp were kayaking , abseiling and jungle trekking. My favourite thing on camp was the flying fox because it was so high off the ground. My sister Hana’s favourite thing was the jungle trek because she says it was fun and exciting . On the way back to K.L one of the buses air-con broke down and we were all sweating really badly! But luckily we all got ice blocks at the end.

Pangkor was a good experience. The most memorable part was trekking, It was so steep and slippery that I had to grab small trees to keep my footing. As a new student, the camp was a good chance to see the ‘other side’ of both friends and teachers.

On Wednesday the 3rd of the 8th, 2005 Year 5 and 6 went to Camp to Pangkor Island for a maximum of three days, two nights.

During this time, all the classes went through a series of enjoyable tasks and games, such as swimming, flying fox and abseiling. In my opinion the camp was fun to be a part of.

I particularly liked the numerous beach activities such as the sculpture contest. I don’t think I’ll be able to wait for the next camping trip!!!
