The annual Team Building Day was a great success again this year. All Junior School children in Years 3 to 5 teamed up with their Middle and Senior School house mates to participate in a range of Team Building Games. For the second time in three years, the children broke the tug-o-war rope! Given that this rope was advertised as being strong enough to pull a jumbo jet, it says a lot about how seriously the students take this inter-house competition.

The houses all prepared a “House Shout”, which was performed at the end of the day in the Auditorium. Children in ELC to Year 2, participated in their own house based team building activities, and also delivered a fantastic performance to the rest of the school.

Congratulations to the winning house for 2017 – Thorpe.

Term 1 House Sport Competition

Elliot Roberts, Co-Curricular Program Coordinator - Junior School

Late last term, Years 3 to 5 competed in their first House Competition for 2017. It was all about ball sports in Term 1 and each student took part in the following games to try and collect points for their house:

  • Dodgeball
  • Basketball
  • Handball
  • Poison Ball / Captain Ball / Tunnel Ball

At the end of the morning it was clear that Sauvage was the dominant force and they took out 1st place with a total of 63 points. Freeman finished 2nd with 49 points, closely followed by Thorpe in 3rd place with 45 points and Rafter in 4th place with 25 points.

There are another three House Competitions this year, which means that there are plenty of opportunities for all houses to build on their scores.

Best of luck to all houses in Term 2.
