Providing Australian education in Malaysia for the past 20 years
How we began?

Australia’s strong links with Malaysia began in the Second World War, and were fostered by the innovative Colombo Plan which ran from the 1950s to the 1980s. Through this plan, Asian scholars, including about 3000 from Malaysia, received scholarships to study at universities in Australia.
In recognition of this link as well as growing educational and business ties between our countries, the Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) was founded in 2000, through an Australian and Malaysian partnership. Sunrise Berhad, a well-known public listed property company became the Malaysian partner. The aim of the partnership was to bring a well-rounded and rigorous education to Malaysia, drawing on Australia’s academic strengths and sporting prowess.
AISM Moves to a Purpose-Built Campus
From our small beginnings with just two students and five members of staff at Country Heights, we’ve grown to having over 400 students, 26 nationalities and more than 50 staff members today.
By 2001 the school was already growing, and a new site for the school was found at the Mines Resort. By 2003, we moved into our new home at the Mines Resort City, 20km south of central Kuala Lumpur.

JOURNEY OF AISM
It has been an incredible journey for Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) as we commemorate 20 years of providing outstanding Australian education in Malaysia. Over the years, AISM has reached many milestones and established itself as the first Visible Learning School in the world. Scroll through AISM’s timeline of events throughout the past two decades.

A member of Taylor’s Education Group

Our future was secured in 2007, when our school became part of Taylor’s Education Group, now one of Malaysia’s largest providers of private education with a mission of educating the youth of the world to take their productive place as leaders in the global community.
Taylor’s Schools has brought in the much needed capital investments for improvements in facilities as well as governance. We celebrated our 10th year anniversary in 2010 and in early 2014, we celebrated the opening of the new Junior School and Performing Arts Centre which increased the school's capacity to 1000 students, and included a range of state of the art facilities. The school continues to expand, and in 2019 will have a new Multipurpose Sports Centre.
With accreditations from regional and international bodies, we continue to grow and develop to meet the needs of this generation.
We welcome fellow 21st century explorers to be part of our story.
