How does the application process work?
AISM aims to admit children who are able to excel with our academic curriculum, and who will enjoy the opportunities to extend themselves academically, physically and socially.
We enrol students throughout the year and so have no application deadlines. However, we encourage you to file an application as early as possible to secure a place for your child.
How long does the application process take?
The application process usually takes about 5 working days provided a completed application is received, including the application fee and academic reports. This does not apply to an applicant with additional learning needs. The application process is detailed below in an easy step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Filling in your application
Parents may complete the application form and include the relevant documents required. There is a checklist with the form to help you compile the relevant documents. Once this is done, please submit the completed application form via email to our Admissions Office or you can hand-deliver or send by registered post to the following address. If you would like to hand deliver the form, please make an appointment with an Admissions Officer before coming to the school.

Your application fee of RM1,300.00 should be paid on submission of the application. Payment can be made via cash, cheque or online transfer.
Payments in the form of cheque or bank draft should be addressed to ‘Australian International School Sdn Bhd’. For payments through online transfer, please refer to the following details:

For overseas transfer, please include additional amount in view of foreign exchange and bank charges., which are paid by the sender. Please email, fax or send by hand a copy of the transaction slip to our Admissions Officer.
Step 2: Admissions assessment and interview
Upon receipt of your application, our Admissions office will be in touch to schedule an admissions assessment (if applicable) and interview.
Nursery, Preparation and Foundation students do not need to sit for an admissions assessment. However completion and submission of the School’s Readiness Checklist and interview is mandatory.
Year 1 and 2 students sit for a literacy test in the presence of an Admissions officer.
For Year 3 and above, students must sit for an online test which consists of English and Mathematics. Students can undertake the testing at our office or if you prefer, in your home country under appropriate supervision.
An admissions interview with the relevant head of school will be conducted upon completion of the assessment. During the interview, either one or both parents or an appointed/legal guardian are required to be present. A Skype interview can be arranged for those who are not in Malaysia.
Step 3: Application outcome
Our Admissions Office will inform parents of the application outcome through telephone or email. The possible outcomes are:
Applicants will receive an offer letter from the school and to confirm your child’s placement, payment of the admission fee and any other fees payable is required by the stipulated date in the offer letter.
Successful application (Pending enrolment)
For application that are successful but places are not available will be placed on the waiting list.
The application is unsuccessful
If your application is unsuccessful we will let you know the reasons and suggest other options where appropriate. You will also be given the option of having a reassessment six months later.

Upon the offer of enrolment being accepted, our Admissions Officer will send you an email with details about the enrolment process. Our Admissions Officer will guide you and your family throughout the process to ensure a smooth start for your child.
