AIMS Music Competition 2017-AISM Students make it to Grand Finals

Three of our students competed in the AIMS music competition on the weekend of 22 and 23 April. Ru-En How and Jyn Kok from the Junior School, and Hayley Saw from the Middle and Senior School were nominated by Mrs Grady to compete against talented musicians from ten other International Schools from across Malaysia. Each of the students performed brilliantly! Jyn and Hayley made it through to the second day of the competition and were one of only six students from each section who were awarded a place in the Grand Final. Though they did not win this year, they were each praised by the Head of the ABRSM in Asia for their performances and were told that they were within a few points of the eventual winners. As lead judge he was very impressed with not only their technical ability, but also their expression and emotional maturity. Well done to all three of these wonderful musicians for their outstanding performances!
