Middle & Senior School
As students progress in learning foreign languages, their ability to communicate and exchange information becomes more proficient. They form a deep understanding and appreciation of the language’s culture, while encouraging creativity and high critical thinking skills. Our specialists are highly trained and knowledgeable in their expertise, imparting their knowledge and love for the language to our students.
In Middle School, our students must select to study one of our offered languages:
The confidence developed will give them the ability to select a language as an elective in their Senior School and Pre-University.
The purpose of the Languages Week is to promote the acquisition of additional languages, to promote intercultural understanding, to showcase student work and to engage the wider school community in language activities, all of which are a vital part of the curriculum. Students will demonstrate how it is possible “to move between cultures” in an international school setting.
The students have the opportunity to participate in activities being held each lunchtime throughout the event. Additional activities take place during LOTE lessons, guest speakers address targeted year levels and Year 5 classes visit Years 6 to 10 LOTE classes before making their LOTE subject selection.
