On Tuesday 18 October, 8 schools from throughout Kuala Lumpur met at AISM for the annual boys Over 15 Volleyball Championship, and the Over 15 AISM Girls team travelled to IGBIS for their Championship competition. This is the first time since the onset of Covid that schools have been able to meet for competitions.
Our boys team consisted of Shotaro Kanda (Captain). Xueyi Chee, Aidan Low, Kian Mun Lam, Toshimi Sawada, Mohannad Elagouz, Ryan Tan, Imad Abdullah, Cedric Boudeville, Ryan Loke and Jason Guo (who was unfortunately unable to participate in the match). After winning all three games in our pool we played in the final for first and second place against Mont Kiara. The score was one set each and this meant that a deciding game was required. We gained second place after the 14-15 result in a hard-fought match.
Pui Yee Chuah (Captain), Li Zhan Liew, Yan Xi Lim, Melynna Hamzah, Sarah Selvindoss, Ee Lea Lai, Zara Yap, Evelyn Loh and Annabelle Au (who could not play due to illness) made up the girls team. They had three wins in their pool games and then went on to play off for first and second place overall. The final was very competitive, but they narrowly lost in 3 sets.
