Michelle Chaplin, Head of Junior School
AISM is continuing to master online learning in the Junior School. As we combine a number of facets to our Continuity of Learning program, we as a community are fast becoming partners in academic excellence online.
Currently we combine explicit teaching through Google Meets and videos - clustered support groups and individual check ins when needed. It is truly a credit to us all that we have grown together to create an online program that works for our children to be successful learners in the current circumstances.
Each day we face different challenges - whether they be technological glitches due to devices, wifi or a simple new learning moment - we are all in this together - let us know what we can do to help - to make learning more accessible for our students. We are constantly looking to improve and to do better for your child; share your challenges with your class teacher, as they would love to help!
I am aware that many people have turned to Netflix and the like for entertainment - I instead stroll through our Seesaw uploads from our ELC to Year 5 and feel excited at the skills and different learning in evidence. To say nothing for some great family entertainment!
As we head into the last few weeks of Term 4 and 2020 we are in the planning stages of a somewhat different end of year and still contemplating what our end of year events may look like!
