AISM is certainly travelling to the end of Term 3 2021 on a high of enriching, rewarding and diverse learning adventures. Our week 6 Learning Adventure was a huge success as students, teachers and homes were once again inspired and empowered to learn in an area of passion.
From our ELC to our Year 5 Learners it was incredible to witness the creativity, positive energy and the delight to be working within a different cohort with a different teacher and doing something that seemed to be all fun - whilst learning!!
A snapshot of what it looked like across the groups - hear from the students and the teachers - and the parents!

Thank you for implementing the Learning Adventure week. It was really good for the whole family to have a break from the COL timetable. The children all really enjoyed their activities and the teachers that ran them put a lot of effort into making it fun and engaging. Leo's restaurant provided 3 meals for the family, Mary-Kate shared the camping snacks and Bonnie had lots of interesting facts to share!
I think it was a great midterm break and hopefully everyone will come into the last four weeks of term with renewed enthusiasm.
Rafael chose to do the Digital Animation. This is something he has taken an interest in in the past and he loved the opportunity to spend three days working on his project. As a parent I particularly appreciated that this was something he could work on with materials we already had at home and that there was flexibility for the students to work with different items!
Having looked at the other options, I thought there was a fantastic range of opportunities for students to select something that interested them and explore further. I would assume it was also a pleasant change for the teachers to spend a few days teaching something different, and getting to know some different kids from outside their class, something that would happen naturally on campus but has been lacking in the remote learning environment.
Last weeks activities also brought enjoyment into our home beyond 3pm with movie nights from the tent and French cuisine for dinner. It was lovely to break the monotony and have something different to look forward to each day.
In the ELC, they explored STEM experiments.
