Ivan McLean, Head of Middle and Senior Schools
As we close the School year, it is a time to reflect back on the many things that have happened in 2020. While CoVID dominates our reflections, 2020 should not only be remembered for this reason. Despite the difficulties, the opportunities that have been provided in the area of academic enrichment, cultural diversity, sporting activities, service learning and personal development have been many and varied...even if only provided online or virtually for some aspects! I have enjoyed watching so many
students immersing themselves in these activities and working together as a school community.
The culminating event of our School Year, Speech Day, is always a chance to highlight some of the amazing achievements accomplished by a number of our students across many different areas and to demonstrate our diversity...and this year proved no different. I am proud to be part of this wonderful school community with so many wonderful young people. I would also like to thank the parents and the teaching staff for their tremendous work this year in assisting our students to achieve their very best. To the staff who are departing, I wish you well in your future positions wherever your career may take you and thank you for being part of the AISM community.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all of those families leaving us the very best in their future endeavours. To our students, I urge you to keep in touch with those friends that you have made and share your future journeys with them. For those returning, I wish you an enjoyable break and a safe return. To all families who are moving on, I wish you and your
children all of the very best in the next chapter of your journey.
Please note that our MSS School Reports for 2020 will be posted on the Parent Portal by Monday 7 December. For parents
leaving the School, GMail accounts will only be active for the week after, so I urge you to download the School Reports
immediately.
During the school holidays, there will be some minor capital work being performed in various areas. Along with the SOPs, this means that students will definitely not be allowed to use the facilities during the break.
For our returning students, we look forward to a hopefully far less restrictive and brighter 2021.
Have a safe and prosperous New Year and Merry Christmas.
