This week Year 12 Design and Technology learnt about lateral thinking for designers. Sometimes as designers we go for the most complicated ideas when there is a really simple solution available or we are so fixed on how it’s always been done that we don’t look for new methods. Thus lateral thinking is concerned with restructuring our accepted ideas and provoking new ones, which leads to creativity and prevents design fixation. It’s also a lot of fun! Mrs. Morley challenged the Year 12 class to complete a series of mini-challenges at home to try alternative ways of solving some problems. Have a look at our videos below.
