Year 10 went to Boshack Outback in Perth for 4 days and 3 nights under the leadership of Ms Hor, Ms Ritchie, Ms Zoe and Mr Stagg. After only a few hours of sleep, we were astounded at the expansive scenery and the sheep grazing territory before arriving at Boshack Outback.
Under the vast blue sky, the students learnt about knots, first aid, and the Dreamtime. They also enjoyed participating in survivor challenges such as orienteering, an obstacle course, raft building and canoeing.
We had the opportunity to pat and feed the horses with fresh fruit, use wire to judge the direction of underground water resources and embrace the beauty of nature on the farm tour. Some brave students (one morning was 6 degrees!) woke up early for bushwalking with their teachers to try their luck at seeing kangaroos.
On cold nights, after Uno, Monopoly GO! and Organ Attack card games, we gazed at the stars and shared s’mores and stories in front of the bonfire.
This will be a fond and unforgettable camping experience for the students and the teachers. Click here for more photos >>
