"The senior production of the Capek Brothers' expressionist play 'The Insect Play' was presented in Week 9 by 41 students from Years 9 to 12 supported by their teachers, Mrs Kitching, Mrs Goonting and Mrs Manders-Jones. The performances were extremely well received by the audience, recognising the humour and wit of the insect world and the way it mirrors aspects of the human world. The costumes were a highlight of the production, utilising headpieces made by the Year 8 Visual Arts students and the cast, as well as beautiful costumes sewn by wonderful parents who devoted many hours to helping create the visual spectacle. Thank you to all who came to support the students. It was a definite highlight of the semester."

Designing and creating masks for the senior production, ‘The Insect Play’, was the Year 8 Visual Arts project in Term 1. A great deal of work went into producing the final resolutions, from researching, designing and caricaturing to the labour intensive papier mache process and finally the decoration. Year 8 have shown determination in working through repetitive processes and initiative in solving design challenges. Well done Year 8.
