Languages Other Than English (LOTE)
Liliane Heininger Head of Department- Languages
This semester has been busy for all LOTE students as classes have been preparing for the Semester 1 assessments. Students have all engaged eagerly in class activities and as always are a pleasure to have in the classroom.
Monday saw the start of the 2017 Language Perfect World Championships. These will run until Thursday 25 May and all students are encouraged to participate. Language Perfect is a great learning tool and provides students the opportunity to work at their own pace as well as collectively. Students always look forward to the time dedicated in class to complete the variety of activities offered. It is a wonderful tool for building vocabulary.
The French students in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 have been fortunate to have Madame Céline Houard come in once a week for a round table discussion. They have practised their speaking and have learned many new expressions along the way. Students look forward to Fridays and the opportunity to sit and “chat” with Madame.
