Our students are at the centre of everything that we do. They are outstanding scholars who are well-rounded individuals who are effective and independent leaders. They are confident and equipped with essential life skills and collaborate with others easily. They are also ethical citizens who have a strong responsibility towards their community and the environment.
An international environment with 37 nationalities
Australian International School in Kuala Lumpur is truly international and multi-cultural. 30% of our students are Australians, another 30% are from 36 different nationalities and the remaining 40% are Malaysians. AISM students develop strong intercultural understanding since the Australian curriculum identifies this as a core capability to have for all our students. Studying the Malaysian studies (which is compulsory for Junior School students) and various events organised in the school helps students develop a good sense of understanding about Malaysia and its culture as well as other countries around the world.
Students travel, near and far to get to our school
More than 60% of our student population live in areas such as Mont Kiara, Bangsar, Ampang, Damansara and Petaling Jaya and travel about 15-30 minutes to get to the school. Many students opt for our bus services with some areas being covered door-to-door, which makes it convenient for them to get to the school.
Our students love school
Speak to any of our student (or parents) about why they choose AISM and the likely answer you will receive is that our students are happy and love learning. Our school will be intentionally kept to not more than 1000 students to ensure that we do not lose the strong sense of community we have today.
